RYA courses for vessels under 10m (powerboats)
These courses are ideal for those who are using open powered craft, such as RIBs and sports boats. Professional open boat skippers can also benefit from these qualifications which will prove their competence. All of our powerboat training instructors have extensive experience with various powered craft and our courses can be tailored to your individual needs, ensuring your time with us is as practical, constructive and enjoyable as possible.
RYA courses for vessels over 10m (motorboats)
For anyone interested in skippering a motorboat vessel over 10m these RYA Courses are a must. Designed to equip you with all the necessary skills and techniques to safely skipper a vessel over 10m, these RYA courses provide the chance to practice boat handling techniques, learn essential skills and gain a firm understanding of onboard safety procedures. Set amidst the breathtaking Carrick Roads near Falmouth, we offer one of the most picturesque, sheltered places to learn. Whatever the weather, we guarantee a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
RYA Theory Courses
If you’re looking to build your knowledge at your own pace then consider our RYA Theory Courses. Run by our sister company, Falmouth School of Sailing, we offer a wide variety of both online and classroom based courses. Easy to book and simple to get started with, we’ll get you set up to begin learning as soon as you’re ready. Plus, many of these courses come complete with a course pack and/or a course book, to complement your learning experience.
Boat Maintenance Courses
We are pleased to be able to offer a Basic Outboard Engine maintenance one-day practical course for those keen to learn more about the mechanics of their engines. Whether it’s a typical 2 or 4 stroke outboard engine, this hands-on course will teach you everything you need to know in order to maintain your engine for years to come.
Private Tuition
Experience the personal approach with training on board your own vessel or private tuition on one of our boats. Learning on your own vessel allows you to become more acquainted with its handling whilst choosing a private session enables you to enjoy fully-customised training, designed to meet your specific needs. Whether you wish to become more in tune with your boat or pursue RYA qualifications, such as Powerboat Level 2 or RYA Helmsman, our private tuition options are ideal.
Instructor Training Courses
Our three day Powerboat Instructor Course is the perfect start for anyone keen to step into the training sector. Along with enhancing your existing skills, you will develop effective teaching methods and, on successful completion, be able to competently teach Powerboat Level 1 and Level 2 courses at accredited RYA Training Centres.
